Who I Am:

I am a commodity trader and risk manager by trade. I have spent over the last 10 years in all forms of the agricultural and commodity space. If you name it, I have likely done it on the grain production side. This blog is a creative outlet for me and a place for me to share my experiences, insights, and views on markets.

Is This A Business?

The short answer is, no. This is not a business, nor does it have plans to be one. This is a creative outlet for me. I am formally trained in market analysis and trade markets for a living, but this is also a hobby of mine on the side (I’m a nerd, I know). I use this blog to share trades, ideas, experiences, research, and other insight that I may not otherwise get to share.

That being said, you are more than welcome to reach out to me. I enjoy discussion with others and will reply usually within 1-2 days. I am happy to answer any questions/comments that I can.

How Did I Develop My Risk Management Process:

Truthfully, working with great mentors, companies, formal education, and a healthy dose of trial and error. I have spent a number of years on the buy side of agriculture and noticed after a while that leadership of many organizations was frustrated with the risk management process. They mostly viewed it as speculative trading, picking tops/bottom, or just general hocus pocus. That drove me to develop a more repeatable process and to start building out systems for entry and exits. These processes and systems take much of the guesswork out of the hedge process and give leadership comfort because there is always a plan.
